- 3-LS4-2: Use evidence to construct an explanation for how the variations in characteristics among individuals of the same species may provide advantages in surviving, finding mates, and reproducing.

There were different strategies used
for the different resources. When searching through reference books,
I chose the encyclopedias available in the library and skimmed
through the book searching for either 'plants' or 'rain forest.' To
find non fiction texts, I asked the children's librarian where the
rain forest section was and then browsed for texts mentioning plants.
I could have also used the library's online catalog to search for
rain forest books. I found videos by going to Youtube.com and
searching for “rain forest plants for kids.” I also used the
same search keywords when searching for websites.
